Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League ambitions have been dealt a potential blow as Ousmane Dembélé is now considered a doubt for the semi-final second leg against Arsenal, following a hamstring issue picked up during the first leg in London.
Dembélé, who netted the decisive goal in PSG’s 1-0 win at the Emirates, was forced off in the 70th minute after showing signs of discomfort. The winger had been one of the most influential players on the pitch, scoring early and stretching the Arsenal defense with his trademark speed and dribbling. His performance was instrumental in securing PSG’s away advantage.
Speaking after the match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique sought to downplay concerns, describing the injury as “nothing serious,” but he also admitted that Dembélé’s participation in the return leg at Parc des Princes is uncertain. “We’ll do some tests. He felt something, but we’re hopeful it’s not serious. Still, we can’t say for sure if he’ll be ready for the second leg,” Enrique stated.

Dembélé’s injury comes at a critical moment in PSG’s European campaign. The French international has been in red-hot form this season, scoring eight goals in the Champions League and emerging as a key figure in the Parisians’ quest for their first European crown. His absence would be a significant tactical loss, especially against an Arsenal side expected to be more aggressive in Paris as they attempt to overturn the deficit.
Despite the concern, Luis Enrique remained optimistic about PSG’s depth. “We have solutions,” he said. “It’s always better to have your best players available, but we have enough quality to respond.”
The second leg is set for May 7 at the Parc des Princes. PSG will enter the match with a slender 1-0 lead, but the possible absence of Dembélé adds a layer of uncertainty as they look to close out the tie and advance to the Champions League final.
